“And having done all to stand…”

The Bible tells us that we are to “take up the armor of God that we will be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Eph. 6:13)

Standing involves posture. It involves a fearlessness and deliberation. It is, by no means, a passive act.

Propping ourselves up and hanging limp limbs on the wall hooks of the Holy Spirit is not the same as rising up and standing. He will give us the strength to stand, but we have to be active about it. We have to make a choice and act upon it.

Standing in the evil day requires digging a deep trench into the Word and planting our roots there solidly. It requires Faith. And it requires trust in the One who told us to stand.

He’s given us all the tools to stand courageously, and to live life beautifully.

Stand therefore!
